PAPER SUBMISSION
(mandatory for those wiling to present at the Workshop)

Important date: Submission deadline: June 09 June 23.

Contributions from researchers working on the design, fabrication, test & measurement, and application of specialty fibers are welcome. Topics of interest include (but are not restricted to):

  • Fibers based on novel or unconventional materials or dopants
  • Fibers with unconventional designs
  • Photonic crystal fibers
  • Microstructured fibers
  • Fiber Tapers
  • New directions on fiber devices and sensors

The paper submission process consists of two steps (note that you will need to be previously registered - but not necessarily to have paid the registration fee):

  1) Submission of the paper’s basic information (i.e. title, authors, affiliations and a 200-400 word abstract). To complete this step click here.

  2) Submission of a 2-4 page manuscript. To complete this step follow the following instructions:
    a. Download the manuscript template here
    b. Send the manuscript in PDF (preferably) or MS Word format by e-mail to wsof2008@ifi.unicamp.br
    c. Receive by e-mail a confirmation of the receipt of the manuscript (within 72 hours).
A PDF file with the manuscript author instructions can be downloaded here, and a sample paper here.

Paper submission will only be considered completed when both steps are properly accomplished. Manuscripts will be reviewed on the basis of technical content, appropriateness to the workshop scope and adherence to the manuscript template instructions.

WSOF 2008’s proceedings will be published within the American Institute of Physics (AIP) Conference Proceedings Series. The volume will be ready approximately six weeks after the event and contain the accepted 2-4 page manuscripts. It will be available online to all registered participants at no cost for one year and from the AIP own online distribution system, Scitation, which is well-known and internationally recognized. A very limited number of printed copies can be purchased at the workshop site and will be mailed when the Proceedings become available.
